STRIPE: what a lovely elegant mission
STRIPE is a startup web business in the USA, one of 5 billion.
STRIPE is lovely.
“Stripe is a simple, developer-friendly way to accept payments online. We believe that enabling transactions on the web is a problem rooted in code, not finance, and we want to help put more websites in business.
“Complexity and opacity have traditionally been hallmarks of online payment processing. We want to fix that.
”We really like building things. The people at Stripe have previously helped start Lala, Mockingbird, Auctomatic, Cappuccino, Encyclopedia, and Observer.
“We love the web, and care deeply about beautiful code, APIs, and documentation. If you see anything we could do better, please let us know.”
I’m not a coder,
I’m not in the US,
and I’m not 29.
I wish I was.
I’d love to work with a group of enthusiastic people
who want to make the world better,
and make a living,
have fun doing it.
So would a lot of people I know and you know.
the people at STRIPE might be full of crap, really, and it might all just be clever words; but what words.
What magnificent words.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could write words like that about playwork?
