Summerhill alumni: ‘What we learnt at the school for scandal’

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/education/schools/summerhill-alumni-what-we-learnt-at-the-school-for-scandal-2373066.html

Not many folk these days remember, but before Bob Hughes wrote his bookie ‘notes to an Adventure playground worker’ (I think) in 1979, the only guidance we had was:

Axline’s ‘Dibs in search of self’

John Holt’s ‘how Children Learn’ ‘How Children Fail’ etcetera

and Summerhill!

I was a member of the long-defunct A.S. Neill Trust and saw Neill as an inspiration for my playwork.
