this piece should have been found in the guardian, but wasn’t. it focusses on girls age 10 to 20 and I know what you’re thinking it must have been written by a fan of the late alan clarke. sorry to disappoint. the callow posh youth (check his blog pic) is reporting the notion that the education of girls is the key not just to the emancipation of women in the ‘whatever PC term I’m supposed to use to avoid saying 3rd world’ but also to the improvement of such societies as a whole. sounds plausible.
